Dr. Vorapas Thunyalukul
Dr. Vorapas Thunyalukul, a.k.a “Dr. T.,” has been practicing Optometry since 2001. She is a Fellow of the American Optometric Society and is also a member of the Nevada Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. She graduated Cum Laude from Cornell University and was top 10 of her SUNY Optometry class. Before joining our practice, Dr. T. served as an active duty officer in the United States Air Force. She was born in Thailand, but grew up in New York. Dr. T. is fluent in Thai and Laos. She also understands some Spanish and Mandarin. When not working, Dr. T. loves to eat and travel. She would be glad to discuss any restaurants/travel related questions on top of vision related ones!
Dr. David Mietzner
Dr. David J. Mietzner, O.D. joined the practice in 2011 after a serving 27 years in the Air Force Medical Service as an optometrist and commander. He is a graduate of Pacific University College of Optometry in Forest Grove, Oregon where he received his Doctor of Optometry and Bachelor of Science in Visual Science. Dr Mietzner obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Concordia University in Portland, Oregon. He earned a Masters ogf Organizational Leadership from Gonzaga University in Spokane Washington.
Dr Mietzner is licensed in Nevada and Idaho. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry (FAAO) and holds board certification from the American Board of Certification in Medical Optometry (ABCMO) . Dr Mietzner is credentialed through the Council for Affordable Quality Healthcare (CAQH) and The Department of Veteran Affairs Healthcare in Southern Nevada.
Dr Mietzner holds a full time appointment as an Assistant Professor from Marshall B. Ketchum University’s Southern California College of Optometry and an Adjunct Faculty Clinical Instructor of Optometry of the Illinois College of Optometry. With over thirty years of clinical and educational experience his practice interests lie in the treatment and management of ocular disease , contact lens, children’s vision and refractive surgery.
Dr. Conrad Lochner
Dr. Conrad Lochner III, O.D. has been practicing optometry in Southern Nevada since 1992 after serving in United States Air Force, active duty for 5 years. Dr Lochner still serves in the USAF Reserve at Nellis AFB, Nevada. Dr Lochner obtained his Bachelor of Science in Biology in 1987 from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 1983. He was awarded the Bachelor of Science in Visual Science in 1985 and Doctor of Optometry in 1987, both from the Southern California College of Optometry. Dr. Lochner is licensed in Nevada, California and Texas
Dr Lochner has filled several educational teaching positions in both the undergraduate and post graduate. He has been involved with mentoring of future Doctors of Optometry throughout his professional career. He held a full time appoint as an Adjunct Clinical instructor for Southern California College of Optometry, Illinois College of Optometry, and the Pennsylvania College of Optometry and as an Adjunct Clinical Professor for University of Houston College of Optometry.
Dr. Lochner’s practice experience has been diverse working in both hospital and private practice settings. He opened his present location in Henderson in 2005. He has an extensive background in refractive surgery (LASIK, PRK) in the private and military sector. Dr. Lochner has been a significant local resource for the evaluation and treatment with contact lens for Keratoconus and other associated corneal degenerations. He has a passion for the martial arts and holds a 1st degree brown belt in judo and jiu-jitsu, you can find him riding his Harley with his wife enjoying all that the American Southwest and California has to offer. His wife, Heidi, and he have been blessed with 2 children who are married and a grandson (more to come)
